I absolutely love the fact that the earrings arrived in the cutest gift box with an inspiring message written on the box. My earrings also came with a thank you note from the company founder, female CEO Jessica Herrin. I knew then that this was no ordinary company. I love the story behind the founding of Stella & Dot as much as I love their products. According to their website, Jessica had a vision to create a new kind of company that would offer today's busy woman a career alternative. She felt the typical home based businesses were not delivering on this. Her vision called for an entirely new concept that could guarantee women flexibility, reward, style, profit and fun. With an irresistible product and exceedingly personal service, a proven formula for passionate earning and personal success was born. The company is now among "Inc." magazine's 500 Fastest-Growing Companies.
My Stella & Dot stylist is Rachel Cairney, who lives in Florida. She is a constant blessing in my life. I asked Rachel for some of her top picks for this fall and the coming holiday season. Rachel says, "One of the trends you will see this fall is mixed metals, and our charm collection exemplifies this trend so beautifully. The silver and bronze pieces are meant to be combined. I love the bronze because it is a softer hue than gold, and has a vintage feel to it. These charms are perfect for gift-giving: for brides, new moms, grandmothers, pet lovers, the possibilities are endless. Each charm will come in a darling box with a note that describes the inspiration behind the individual charm." You can view their entire Fall 2012 Charm Collection here.
One of the aspects that I love about this company is their commitment to help empower women and children through economic and educational development through the outreach of the Stella & Dot Foundation with their motto "Generosity looks good on you." 100% of net proceeds from each of their Foundation products sold goes to one of their partner charities Accion, buildOn and Girl's Inc. as part of their motto that "Small actions make a big difference." The two bracelets pictured are among their pieces available in their Foundation collection and I love the detail in the design of these bracelets.
You can view all of their Foundation collection here.
In the company's true spirit of "Generosity looks good on you.", my Stella & Dot stylist Rachel Cairney is graciously providing one of my blog readers AND one of my Facebook fans with their own Foundation bracelet, each valued at $39. The winner of this blog giveaway will receive not only the bracelet in turquoise, but the gift of generosity as well, with all net proceeds from the bracelet's purchase going to the Foundation.

Hello! Coming to you from SITS Saturday Sharefest! My favorite way to make a difference is usually something small. I don't have a lot of money or time, so around Christmas I'll buy extra bags of pet food or litter and donate them to animal shelters.
ReplyDeleteService and giving back is a focus DBF and I have in our lives, home, and relationship. Sometimes it's a few dollars for the homeless at the red light, other times it's donations of food to the local food pantry or animal shelter. We also volunteer our time to many organizations ( Delta Zeta, the local high school). I can't wait to read about how others are showing their generosity.
ReplyDeleteI tend to donate my time most often. But I also feel very strongly about giving back to the local community by supporting local small businesses. I frequent the local bakeries, restaurants, and boutiques before going to large chains. My heart is definitely with my local farmers as well and prefer to give them my support over the commercial growers when possible. It's often these small businesses who are also focused on giving back by supporting local charities. They are grateful to their community, so the generosity comes full circle and keeps everyone connected.
ReplyDeleteI'm passionate about empowering people and their ideas. I try to volunteer with my children's schools and in my military community as much as possible. Ask my family- I'm never home!
ReplyDeleteThe best way to make a difference is when you find a cause you are passionate about-whether it is the American Cancer Society, Parkinson's Foundation or the local nursing home. If you find something you are passionate about, you will want to spend more time with your cause and encourage others to do so as well.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy giving back to our military memebers. That is why being part of the DAR is so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI have been a volunteer firefighter for 23 yrs. I was the first female but I won't be the last.I love giving back to the coomunity....
ReplyDeleteI think making a difference happens in the little things in life! It's the extra story read to your toddler, the box of noodles you drop off at the resource center, the books you take to the children's home, the kind word you share with a cashier.... I want to be making a difference in my every day life! Thanks fo rhte giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI hate to sound like a broken record, but it really is the little things. My motto (taken from Mother Teresa) is "There are no great things, only small things done with great love." I visit the nursing home and take something small to residents--a flower, a picture, etc. I make a point of telling people what I like about them or telling managers about a nice employee. Just little things--you never know how far they go!
ReplyDeleteThe way I attempt to make a difference is taking care of each of my patients as if they were a member of my family. Every patient is someone's father, daugther, brother, cousin, uncle, neice. So, what would I want for my family and then I do that for my patient.
ReplyDeleteI like to make a difference in small ways such as a smile to someone who needs it, at work as a school playtime leaders making the children smile and having fun. I also like to give to charity especially cancer research and the stroke foundation, these two are very close to my heart x
ReplyDeleteI like making a difference by being the best mom I can to my two boys. I do my best to teach them to give to others, not just tangible things but time, caring, consideration, and compassion. supdike122@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI try to great each person I meet during the day with a smile. Funny how that seems to change a person having a bad day's outlook.
ReplyDeleteI also am home in the morning to put the Grandson's on the bus and also be there in the afternoon to meet the bus.
Also sending in meals when someone is ill or having a death in the family.
My favorite way to make a difference is to make small impacts of people's everyday life. One of my favorite things to do is pay the toll for the car behind me.

My favorite way to make a difference is participating in the "Pay It Forward" ideal. Someone does something good for you, do something good for someone else and keep it going. It could be anything and that's what makes it special. Is that you have no idea how much you can influence someone else by paying for their toll, their starbucks, giving someone a ride somewhere, ect.

I try to make a difference by passing it along to my two little boys, ages 4 and 2. We participate in our towns Special Olympics events. They love meeting and greeting the players and cheering them on. Early learning leads to a lifetime of philanthropy for others....
ReplyDeleteI love making a difference by helping out in any way that I can! I donate what I can and I am always on the search for new ways to help.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this giveaway!

If I can make a difference by directly helping someone get in a position to continually improve themselves and then help another someone, I feel like I have done a service. If I can make a difference by just feeding someone who is hungry, I will do that too!
ReplyDeleteEntries are now closed for this giveaway. Thank you to everyone who entered! How inspiring it is to read through all the many ways you make a difference in your communities and it truly touched my heart. Winner will be announced on the blog tomorrow at noon EST.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Abbe Leal! Please e-mail me at angelaskitchen@rocketmail.com with your mailing address. :)
